Tips On Men’s Fashion For The Workplace
Many men do not know a lot about fashion or what they can and cannot wear to work. It is very understandable and a lot of men are like this. Many men did not learn about dressing themselves due to them becoming accustomed to being dressed by their mothers when they were children, or if their wives or girlfriends usually choose their clothing. If you are a man that can relate to this, there are a few things you can learn about of what is and isn’t appropriate for work.
If you work in a professional environment, a tailored suit is a must have. Suits that fit properly with good structure, shape, and clean lines give off the impression that you are organized and ready to work hard.
Consider suit colors as well. A smart idea is to stick to basic colors. Medium to dark shades of blue are good color choices. Gray, tan, brown, and black also are appropriate colors. Colors that are too bold are not suitable for work. If you wear an orange, purple, or red suit to work, chances are people are not going to take you seriously.
Considering the pattern on suits is also very important. One fashionable and nice pattern is pinstripes. They make men look stylish and put together. Texture looks very nice on a suit too as long as it is of a subtle tone. Loud patterns should always be avoided. Color blocks and polka dots are never the right pattern choice for work.
Also, take into account what shoes you should be wearing. Flip flops would never be worn to work. Casual shoes such as sneakers and sports shoes such as tennis shoes should also not be worn at work. Loafers are a nice fashion staple for work because they are always in style. Unlike a brown boot, a loafer says ‘promote me.’
Choose the right accessories as well. Most men wear watches while at work. One variety to avoid is wearing a men’s sport watch, which doesn’t belong in the workplace. Watches that are brightly colored or that have cartoon characters on them, no matter how memorable or cute they are, should stay out of the workplace.
Try classic time pieces instead that are sophisticated. A leather watch will always look good with a suit and it’s simple. They can be worn casually and professionally and therefore are a good investment. Never over-accessorize, being simple is important.
If you follow these simple tips, you will be fashion forward in the workplace. No longer will you have to rely on others to dress you. You can be as stylish as your boss.
